AFRICANDOTO’S…

mission is to empower children’s dreams in Tanzania through education.

In 2016, a group of friends came to realize that they had an inner voice speak up telling them about their life’s purpose: to help make children in Tanzania’s dreams come true. Their goal was to improve the quality the Tanzanian’s population lives. And so they started off in the Usa River area, a neighborhood located around the city of Arusha, in Northern Tanzania. The AfricaNdoto team has grown ever since, with 5 other members joining the team, as well as a number of volunteers who have been working remotely as well as onsite.

The word Ndoto comes from the Swahili, a language spoken in Tanzania, which means «dream», an imaginary event seen while sleeping. So the name of our non-profit organization means «The African dream». At AfricaNdoto we believe that by providing children in Tanzania with a proper English education, will then open the doors to a prosperous future, as well make dreams come true. Having the opportunity to attend Elementary School in English will give them the opportunity to attend High School, and finally give them access to higher degrees such as University.

Our Founders

Mery was born and raised in Tarragona, Spain and went to school for Tourism and PR. She’s always wanted to travel the world in a conscious manner. She traveled to Tanzania in 2015 to partake in humanitarian activities in an Educational institution.

Mery fell in love with Tanzania and their people and saw a need for help in their communities and decided to stay and start AfricaNdoto. A dream come true for Mery and Prince, they are working hard to provide an English education to as many children as possible.

Our Team in Tanzania

Our team in Tanzania is very large and is formed by the management team in Capricorn Academy, the owner of Ngarasero Day Care, and our staff who are based in Arusha. They are responsible for picking up volunteers traveling from abroad, all the paperwork needed for Sponsorship, scheduling activities with both the School and Day Care, placing volunteers on-site, as well as the transportation between the hostel and the School.

DECEMBER 2018

My heart is full. I will never forget the look on these kids’ eyes. I have received so much love from them, I only hope one day all the love they radiate returns right back to them. Hakuna Matata.
